Larry Maxwell

2011 – 2013 Business Students’ Association Honorary President

A native of St. Catharines, Larry Maxwell expressed a keen interest in business and chose to study at Brock University graduating in 1985.

Mr. Maxwell enjoyed a 15-year executive career at Xerox Canada Ltd. that took him all over the country. An entrepreneur at heart, he was drawn to Shred-It, the secure confidential document shredding company. As the company’s first franchisee, he was integral in building Shred-It into the multinational corporation that it is today. Mr. Maxwell currently has a Wealth Management Practice with TD Waterhouse offer investment advice to clients in St. Catharines.

As a Faculty of Business Advisory Council Member Mr. Maxwell is actively involved with Brock University’s Faculty of Business, he also extends to the entire school by offering support and advice to the executives within BUSU.

Mr. Maxwell enjoys travelling with his wife, Meredith, and children Haley and Redding. Always on the hunt for the “perfect wave,” his favourite vacation destination is Hawaii…although any local golf course would be a close second!

He is a great fan of Mentorship programs and encourages students to take advantage of the programs available at Brock University and elsewhere in Niagara.

To the students, Mr. Maxwell offers the advice to “Keep Organized, and Keep ahead.” He also encourages students to keep their eyes open for opportunities especially when looking at various careers, as you never know where your business degree will take you.
