5 Days at Brock aims to raise awareness about homelessness and raise money for Community Care. This organization helps homeless persons in need. In fact, 33% of the people that they help are children! Our 5 Days campaign runs from March 11th-15th and raises important funds and canned goods for this organization and for the people in the Niagara region who need it the most.

Mission Statement
Five Days for the Homeless aims to increase awareness of the issue of homelessness and to raise donations for the charitable organizations supporting homeless and at-risk youth across the country. Five Days for the Homeless strives to create a society where all homeless individuals are given access to opportunities for success, free of barriers or public judgement.

History
Five Days for the Homeless was founded at the University of Alberta’s School of Business in 2005 by a group of students who recognized homelessness as a growing issue and wanted to give back to the community. In the first year, roughly $2,000 was raised for Five Days and it has been steadily growing ever since. In 2010 with 19 schools participating across Canada, a record breaking $182,789 was raised for the campaign.

Brock hopes to contribute to this important cause and give back to the community by donating all the proceeds raised through Five Days to Community Care St. Catharines and Thorold. Community Care helps to provide a bridge between dependency and self-sufficiency through programs that create a positive environment for people to support themselves and their families with dignity and purpose.
